Cylke Interview continued... part 2
 3. When is NLS planning to release CD ROMS of the blnd database?
Mr. Cylke stated that it would be at least 2 years before patrons would be
 able to purchase these disks.
 4. Will the release of such CD ROM disks cause a decrease in other NLS
services such as reducing book production etc?
His answer on this question was an emphatic "no". I got the idea that
the CD Roms would come from a different fund.
 5. If according to a congressional mandate, NLS must provide free library
access, how can NLS justify charging blind patrons for the above mentioned
 cd roms?
Mr. Cylke stated to me that all other library services are free such as
searching titles in the blnd by librarians for patrons, books in braille
and voice formats, catalogs and the like. He justified the charges by
stating that any fees would be minimul and greatly reduced.
