[This is from the Blink Talk Conference]

okay here are my first and lasting impressions of asap. first of all
it is one hell of a program and I am impressed with reservations. I
think if the problems I am seeing are successfully addressed no
disrespect to uncle dougy of gw microtalk cause I own his pgm too but
it is going to leave the other guys scrambling and clawing for a foot
hold. asap for the novice computer user is a god send because they
don't know about reading the current curser line or setting up hot
keys. the program can be too talky at times but I think with dorking
around with it you can illiminate some of that. now here is the
h_u_g_e draw back there is no way to save some of the settings you
must change inside his control pannel. you can set them for that
session but when you reboot everything is back to 0
I believe with confirmation from larry that we mutually respect one
anothers abilities whether that extends to the blink talk family I
don't know. Larry has to get away from this batch file configuration
jazz and allow envirenment variables to be set and saved. he told me
this morning that he is already working on that and hopes in a few
weeks to have that down pat. those of you using q and a would love
the way asap handles the forms presented on the screen. the first
form that comes up the field labels are spoken then subsequent forms
brought up just the data in the fields are spoken. willie listen up.
I tried asap with oman 117c and it made more since using it than
flipper and vocaleyes. walter listen up I never quite grasp what
all you guys were saying about reading the curser using the number
pad without going in to review but asap dows that too and it is a
wild concept I have never experienced before. I can wonder down a
line using the number pad and leave my system curser where it is.
there are bushels and bushels of features I haven't fully explored
but my mind is open to the possibility of adding it to my packages.
it is more inticing now that larry is supporting more than just the
double talk and will sell the software separate. his method of copy
protection to me is absolutely acceptable. more later.
I want to try it on word perfect 5.1
and using silver express the way I tried it is a pain but I have some
more dorking to do with it.
