Thanks for the message. I have noted that ACB has been becoming more
"activist"--I believe you used that word in a message once upon a time long
long ago. I don' think you'll find anyone from either organization arguing
about the fact that there need to be standards, quality services, good
attitudes by service delivery systems, etc. I think, for a long time, it
seemed that there wasn't work in ACB to improve a lot of things--there was
apathy--but I do note a change toward more desire to bring more action to bear
on things.

In louisiana, ACB and NFB have not agreed always on stuff, but we've come
together on some things--liek some legislation, etc. I believe in
organizations fof the blind working on their own agendas, and if the groups
can work on something together, fine. As I said long time ago--we've got
diverse religious groups, we've got political parties, etc.
Again, thanks, as always, my friend, for your message.

I'm very proud of the fact that it is happening locally. LCB and NFB-LA
worked together on passage of the braille literacy law.

Sorry y'all, but I was a little kid in the late 50's when the civil war
was on and frankly that was their fight. That generation is passing.

Frankly, many of us have been tired of that old fight for quite some
time. It is true that there are some differences between the groups but
not so much that we cannot work together when when important issues
arise and at least here in Louisiana, those issues are arising more
often.
