Pat, I noticed you asked Ron what sip-and-puffs and headband pointers
were. Maybe I can answer that for you. Sip-and-puffs are devices used
to control different things (electric wheelchairs, to name one) by
Quads who can only move their heads. The headband pointers are used by
these saame individuals to turn the pages of a book, type on a
typewriter or computer, etc. I don't use either as I have some use of
my arms and hands. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

Okay, so you told me what sip and puffs and headband pointers are used
for. But what ARE they? What do they look like, and how do they function?

Hi Ron, the Handbook for Barrier-Free Design for Ohio handles at lot of
info about aesthetics in design as well as spec (those that the Feds
require, those that the PVA suggests, and Ohio requires). The book has a
lot of information about plants and trees that can be used and those that
shouldn't be used in landscaping around buildings. It handles things like
what kind of trees may be dropping lots of berries and leaves that would
make entrances and ramps slippery and a hazard. I found it very
enlightening. You can get a copy of the book by either calling or writing

 JS> It's fun to socialize...
 JS> With people you despise...

Oh, the white folks hate the black folks,
And the black folks hate the white folks.
To hate all but the right folks
Is an old established rule.

But during National Brotherhood week,
National Brotherhood Week,
Lena Horne and Sherriff Clark arfe dancing cheek to cheek,
It's fun to eulogize
The people you despise,
As long as you don't let 'em in your school.

Oh, the poor folks hate the rich folks,
And the rich folks hate the poor folks.
All of my folks hate all of your folks,
It's American as apple pie.

But during National Brotherhood Week,
National Brotherhood Week,
New Yorkers love the Puerto Ricans
'cause it's very chic,

Step up and take the hand
Of someone you can't stand,
You can tolerate him if you try.

Oh, the Protestants hate the Catholics,
and the Catholics hate the Protestants,
And the Hindus hate the Moslems
And everybody hates the Jews.

But during National Brotherhood week,
National Brotherhood week.
National everybody smile at one-another-hood week.

Be nice to people who
Are inferior to you.
It's only for a week, so have no fear,
Be grateful that it doesn't last all year.

Has anyone out there tried to get a job from Inter Christo or Lift inc.
Idid send for the material from Inter Christo, and I found out that you
had to send in 35$ every three months. I thought it was rather expensive
for me. As far as Lift Inc. is concerned, I called them a few years
back and he didn't seem like wanted to work with the blind. I got both
of these Co.s from Joni Eareckson Tada's news letter, which I get on
tape.

If she is using a TL-1000, then try disconnecting the

Tim,
He actually wrote an older book which may not be available any more
but which gives you an idea of his younger writings. The book is
called Face to Face, and was read by Alexander Scourby. If it is at
all possible to get it, please do so as it's good.
