Seriously, most folk would consider this a lark. Not a lark, a true
story.
A friend had a 1975 Plymouth Valiant that was falling apart mostly due
in most part to the salt used on the roads in our Canadian winters.
Joy, my dog guide, hates salt. Back to the story. So this car is worth
$20 and Grant figures it should die a respectable death considering it
carried his personality, rust that is, for four years of college. All
flammable materials are removed from the vehicle, except for the seat,
all glass, and off we go. There's a race track 15 miles east of
Canada's capital called Ottawa Valley Speedyway. "Thunder in the
Pines". The end night attraction, demolishion derby.
Blind people can drive. It's true! We can. The official said that
there could be no deliberate smashing before the flag was dropped.
Ooops, I was disqualified. I think it might have something to do with
the fact that I started before the green flag was waved. I lasted 30
seconds, destroyed one contestants radiator, then drove into a cement
wall. Grant has it mortalized on video just to prove that blind people
can drive.
Mr. moderator. I apologize for tying up the echo but humour should fall
within the mandate of this echo I trust.
