In approximately 1.5 hours, at 1100 EST, the three main engines of the Challenger will be test fired together at the pad. At the conclusion of a simulated countdown, designed to mimic the actual one right down to hold time, the engines, each of which provide 390,000 pounds of thrust, will be test fired together (for the first time) for 20 seconds. The launch is now scheduled for 27 January.
