[comp.sys.ncr] How much internal memmory installed in a 32/400 ?

tobbe@tessan.datessa.se (Torbj|rn B}}th) (11/29/90)

I need to find out how much internal memory a NCR Tower 32/400
(SysV.2 01.03.00) has installed. I've tried to RTFM but I haven't found
any usefull command. The 'show' program is not available, as it is on
newer releases of the operating system. Any suggestions?

Try 'wc -c /dev/mem'. This will return the number of bytes of memory.

You *can* use the show command on 01.03.00, if you use the "mcs -d"
command on it first. The mcs command will delete the comment section
which stops show working under 01.03.00. I use it and have not found
it to cause any problems.

This in fact is what you do with most commands from 02.xx.xx which
you want to use on a 01.03.00 system. I successfully use the
HDB cu for example, also with no problems.

Regards
