Because of the postponement in the shuttle program due to the recent problems with Challenger's main engines, NASA is considering transferring some upcoming shuttle flights to use Delta rockets instead. The two launches that would be most likely to be transferred would be Indonesian and Indian communications satellites, now scheduled to be launched aboard the Challenger in April and July. Those dates now seem impossible due to the recent trouble. Meanwhile, spokesmen for ESA said today that if Spacelab was delayed far enough past its September launch date, it may have to wait until 1984 to go due to specific launch conditions that must be met for it.
