I have a problem getting uucp working over Ethernet to the local machines. We have (more than) one NCR 32/600 and a 650 running NCR Unix 1.03 and 2.01 respectively, and an NCR 3000 running SVR4, all connected through Ethernet. The Towers (600 & 650) are running Excelan and the 3000 is running WIN/TCP. I can dial-in to the 3000 from the Towers, using the special device which allows remote logins (in my case, /dev/ttyT16). Dial-out is the problem. My main problem is: what device name to use on the 3000 to do the same thing? We aren't running AT&T Starlan, so /dev/starlan isn't it. The Towers are not running streams-based TCP/IP programs. Am I overlooking something obvious? RTFMs: The SVR4 Complete Reference (excellent book) talks about two streams-based machines; the NCR3000 WIN/TCP manual does the same, the NCR3000 Administrator's Guides: basic tasks is useless for this; advanced tasks at least mentions TLI (transport level interface without streams), but doesn't tell me how to use it for this purpose. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. -- Ian Nicholls Phone : +61 3 829 6088 Fax: +61 3 829 6886 \_o_/ Coles/Myer Ltd.
