Readers of this group have already confirmed my novice status so I'll reinforce it once again. As usual this one is very strange to me, perhaps someone can explain what happened. Some time back I asked about an unusual console message I was getting on wrangler complaining about being unable to allocate a page to swap in a udot. I still don't know what a udot is but a kind soul in Columbia told me that I needed to either add memory or swap space. Dollars said add swap space. Before I repartitioned the disk I used to get an annoying warning from the assembler when it encountered the code inlined by the str* functions. It would grips about nested asm calls no longer supported but everything would work OK anyway. After repartitioning that message has vanished. I can not get my mind around why repartitioning the disk would alter the assembler's opinion regarding inlined string functions and my curiosity is killing me. Can anyone confirm that going from 10MB to 16MB of swap space would make that go away? More important (to my curiosity) can anyone explain why? Thanks for your patience. Oh yeah, the udot message went away too, just like he said it would... -- Bill Kennedy uucp {att,cs.utexas.edu,pyramid!daver}!ssbn.wlk.com!bill internet bill@ssbn.WLK.COM or ssbn!bill@attmail.COM
