A client of mine wishes to setup SNA 3270 and RJE emulation on his Tower 650 (2.1.1). Even though he has no need for X.25, it appears that he must spend $2370 on SNA/X.25 Networking (D509-2067-00CT) when all he really needs is V.2 SNA PU2/2.1 Networking (G364-0016-00CT) at $850; my distributor informs me that NCR has discontinued the second product and now only supports SNA/X.25. What gives? Why is he being forced to pay $1520 for a feature that he has no earthly use for? Is there still a source for the PU2/2.1 software? E-mail appreciated; I will summarize if there is interest. Thanks. -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dick Gill Gill & Piette, Inc. We are forced to do it all the time. For the most part, they have dependable equipment. They offer fairly fast, and often good maintenance. But they are expensive in the initial purchase, and nickel dime expensive from then on. Darrell uunet!eeocdt!darrell
