I have just been reading the UI roadmap and am interested to know when the components described in it will be available on the NCR System 3000. I understand that some of the dates and version numbers people may be able to provide are only approximate but I would really like a general idea. I also understand that the dates given by UI are not releases to the public but to VARs etc. 1. X11R4 Which is available on heaps of other SVR4 offerings right now, when and which NCR UNIX release for the 3000 ? Listed as "Technology licensable" 4Q90 by UI. 2. B1/B2 Enhanced Security Which provides for Mandatory Access Control, Audit etc. Listed as "Technology licensable in a release" 2Q91 by UI. 3. Commercial File System Enhancements To provide high performance extent based file system, real time support, faster recovery, unbuffered I/O by application. We are really interested in this one. Listed as "Technology licensable" 1Q91 by UI. 4. System Management Extensions To provide local/remote message logging and monitoring, software distribution etc. Another one we are interested in. Listed as "Technology licensable in a release" 2Q91 by UI. n. any other developments on the way ... Any information gratefully accepted.
