In case you folks at NCR working on SVR4 for the 3000 haven't had this reported yet. I was just logging into our System 3000 (we don't have 1.0.01 yet BTW) and it told me: No utmpx entry. You must exec "login" from the lowest level "sh". Sounds like something got confused ? BTW. It's never happened before. I had noticed this a few days ago, and input a SPEC (an internal event/method to track problems) against this just today. The spec number is 122142. I think that all its telling you is that you must "exit" until you are at a login promt and then login. Anyway thats all that I have ever had to do to satisfy the system. Good Luck. BTW We have V.2 with OS 2.01.02 and 1.xx.xx so I think that it is not new to SVR4. NOW I must add this as filler or the article will be rejected because I have more of you text than mine. ............................................... ........................................................................... ...........................................................................
