The National Center for Human Genome Research at NIH
has plans to hire several more scientist/administrators
to help administer the NIH human genome program.

                 HEALTH SCIENTIST ADMINISTRATORS
            NATIONAL CENTER FOR HUMAN GENOME RESEARCH
               NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH (NIH)

The National Center for Human Genome Research seeks outstanding
candidates with a Ph.D. or M.D. and experience in molecular
biology or genetics to serve in the Human Genome Program at NIH
in Bethesda, MD.  The areas for which candidates are sought are:

      Informatics

      International relations

z      Human Genetics, Molecular Biology

Candidates must have at least three years of postdoctoral
training and significant scientific experience beyond the
postdoctoral level.  The duties of the positions will include
administration of a portfolio of grants relating to the subject
area, maintaining a thorough knowledge of ongoing genome projects
in that area, and advising the Center Director on policy
development regarding genome issues.  The position for
international relations will require substantial travel for the
purpose of establishing strong international ties for the NIH
genome project and assessing the state of genome projects in
other countries.  The salary range is $42,600 to $65,000, or may
be negotiable commensurate with qualifications and experience.

            TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT/TRANSFER

The National Center for Human Genome Research, NIH, Bethesda, MD
seeks an outstanding candidate to develop and implement policy
for technology development and transfer related to the Human
Genome Program.  The successful candidate will have a Ph.D or
M.D., at least three years of postdoctoral training, and
significant scientific experience beyond the postdoctoral level.
Applicants should also have a thorough knowledge of technology
currently being used and developed in the NIH program to map and
sequence the human genome as well as a working knowledge of the
biotechnology industry.  The duties of the position will include
assessment of the state of technology development for genome
studies, interaction with biotechnology and instrumentation firms
to ensure the rapid transfer of technology from federally
supported research to industry, management of Small Business and
other NIH grants, and advising the Center Director as to the
needs for technology development for the genome program.  The
salary range is $42,600 to $65,400, or may be negotiable
commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Interested
