The Department of Energy's Human Genome Program will be accepting applications
for a COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGIST and a MOLECULAR BIOLOGIST under the auspices of
a Federal 'Health, Science and Technology Job Fair' to be held at the Omni
Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC on June 22-23, 1990.

Recruitment done through these Job Fairs is on a special 'fast track' through
the hiring process and successful applicants must be on board within 90 days
after the Job Fair.

Applicants need not be present at the Job Fair but their SF-171 forms must be
submitted at the Fair.  Applications received at the DOE Human Genome Program
by June 22 will be submitted by Program personnel.  The express mail address

COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGIST

The primary function of this position is to provide technical administration
for a broad and complex program of research in the development and application
of computer science, information processing and communications technology for
the conduct and management of life sciences and environmental research.  This
research program encompasses development and analysis of biological data
bases, computational techniques for analysis of DNA sequences, chromosome
maps, and biological structures, and biomedical applications of imaging
techniques and advanced approaches to environmental modeling.

Activities span a full range of responsibilities pertinent to directing major
multidisciplinary research programs and require broadly based experience and
knowledge in the application of computer sciences in biology and other life
sciences with a background of nationally recognized research achievement.

In addition to program formulation and direction, serves as a nationally
recognized authority in computer sciences to advance health and environmental
research.

MOLECULAR BIOLOGIST

The primary function of this position is to provide technical administration
for a broad and complex program of research in molecular biology designed to
provide basic and applied information in support of radiation biology,
chemical toxicology, cellular and structural biology, and human genome
research.

Activities span a full range of responsibilities pertinent to directing major
multidisciplinary research programs and require broadly based experience and
knowledge in life sciences, especially fundamental molecular biology and
related disciplines as applied to the research activities mentioned above,
with a background of nationally recognized research achievement.

In addition to program formulation and direction, serves as a nationally
recognized authority in biological sciences to advance health and
environmental research.
