Alan Silverstein was interested in a picture of a shuttle launch from the
vertical position. A quite effective rendition of this exists. The piece is
23 by 26 inches, and is a 850 copy limited edition print. Cost is $150.00.
The artist is Wilson Hurley, and the print is being distributed by Greenwich
Workshop Limited Edition Prints. I saw a copy in a gallery here in Oregon --
if you're interested in availability in your area, you could call this gallery
and ask for more information, or just look around in your local area.

Artists comments on the print:
"'Columbia at 30 Seconds' is my attempt to contain within the four
corners of a painting something of the space, distance, power and
velocity that made this launch the most breathtaking I've even seen.
I wanted to impart a sense of scale and of the tremendous energy
expended in getting this vehicle into space. Looking up or across at
the launch would have made the shuttle just a tiny speck in the
painting. So, I decided to look right down Columbia's throat. With
a map of the launch pad, I was able to lay out all the details of the
background. But only when I mathematically projected the map onta a
sphere with an equivalent radius of 10 to 12 feet was I able to make
the spacecraft stand up straight and impart a real feeling of depth
to thhe painting."
