Shep left a press release here 5 months ago, announcing to the world the "introduction" of the product. What's an "introduction"? Does that mean I can buy it at ComputerWare, or is an "introduction" kind of like a debutante's ball: you can dance with her, but you can't take her home? So far nobody's even dancing. To hear you say "there are a lot of things going on right now with Perfect Timing" is very curious. If this is as big a groupware product as Nat Goldhaber (investor, by the way, in Shep's company) says it is, shouldn't you be able to tell us if it's available yet? C'mon, Chris. What's the deal here? Forums are supposed to be places where information flows above ground. -- Bob Subj: Where's the Product? 90-03-28 17:21:30 EDT From: XanaduDev Shep, Long time, no speak. How you been? I know you've been busy working on Perfect Timing, so I've been quietly (very quietly) awaiting its release. Hell, I even stopped making bad jokes about the name, even after great temptation from Henry Norr. Now I come on here and see an *October* press release announcing the product's "introduction". What does that mean? Is is available now? Can I buy a copy? Why haven't I seen this elsewhere? Did you announce this on CIS, too? Did you get the press release to MacWEEK, or to the other magazines? See you either at MacWorld or the Developers' Conference. -- Bob Subj: Argh. 90-03-29 23:17:19 EDT From: AFL MacDev Well, basically things are messed up over there, words and letters are flying, and it seems to me quite possible that the product might die. But they may be able to bring things back together though. I don't really want to say much more because I know the folks involved personally, and have a little too much confidential information on the subject. It would be sad as it truely was working up to be a superior product. Chris Allen - AFL MacDev Subj: From the horse's mouth 90-04-02 00:08:11 EDT From: Shep T Everybody, I'm sorry I have been out of touch for so many months. Obviously, things have not been going swimmingly. Except maybe swimmingly upstream. Anyway, Perfect Timing's exact predicament was very unfortunate. Serious deadlines, with serious legal ramifications, were missed. Hopefully, there is still a serious light at the end of the tunnel. At this time it still looks like there might be. Perfect Timing certainly will never be the first groupware product, but it may still be one hell of one. We ARE definitely still working on getting it out. Shep Tamler President Imagine Software Subj: Who should market PT? 90-04-26 03:04:23 EDT From: Shep T If Perfect Timing were to be given to a Mac email company to market, should it be InBox, MS Mail, or Quickmail? I've got a preference, but it's not entirely up to me. Subj: Based on Reputation... 90-04-26 18:21:56 EDT From: AFL MacDev I think that CE Software has exceeded their promise in almost every product they have brought to the market. MicroSoft has had mixed results, and is not dedicated to the Mac, and Tops has never really gone beyond their original promise. Chris Allen - AFL MacDev
