CCTAs Advanced Concepts Branch undertakes wide ranging investigative and comparative work to assess upcoming technologies which may benefit government in the future. The Advanced Concepts Branch has identified Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) as being one such potentially benificial technology and has embarked on a 5 year evaluation of CSCW. The introductory report provides a broad overview of CSCW's origins, components, products, research community, applications, benefits and disadvantages. The document will be jointly published by CCTA and Computer Sciences Company in the autumn of 1990, and will be publily available worldwide as well as being distributed within UK government circles.
