My management has asked me to locate a calendaring system that is more automated that what they're using now. Currently, we're about 75% saturated with Suns. All of the decision-makers (through their secretaries) use the freely-available Calentool program (by Philip Heller, with enhancements by Bill Randle). They find themselves yearning for a more automated way to resolve schedule conflicts. Given the recent discussion in this group, is it fair to assume that the issue of automated calendar conflict resolution is still unsettled? Are there any commercial products out there that purport to address this problem? It occurs to me that Calentool could be modified to know of the existence of other Calentools. Perhaps an RPC interface with calls like Invite_to_Meeting(), Accept_Invitation(), Reject_Invitation()? Has anyone else considered something like this? I've moved comp.groupware near the top of my .newsrc, so you can reply here if you think others would be interested. Otherwise, please send me mail if you've got a comment or suggestion. Thanks!
