C S C W ' 9 0 The Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work 7-10 October 1990 Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles California Registration Info and Preliminary Program * * * * * The advance program as well as hotel reservation and conference registration forms are available in the August issue of CACM; people on the CSCW mailing list will get mailed copies at about the same time. But here it is in summary form. The advance registration fee for ACM members is $195; for nonmembers it's $235. Advance registration closes on 10 September, after which the fees are $270 and $310, respectively. The registration fee includes the Proceedings; two receptions (the Monday evening reception will include food that should be adequate to count as dinner for all but the very, very hungry!); continental breakfast as well as morning and afternoon coffee and refreshment breaks on all three conference days; and lunch on two conference days. Contact the registration chair, Prof. Cynthia Beath (UCLA: 213-825-4817 or IYG0CMB@oac.ucla.edu), if you need additional information. The conference is located at the Biltmore Hotel, in downtown Los Angeles. (213-624-1011). Single rooms are $105 per night, double rooms are $115, and triples, $145. Once you are there, there's a free shuttle bus that covers the main downtown area. But getting to the hotel from the airport involves either a fairly expensive taxi fare ($25+) or else a minivan (about $15). Additional hotel information is available from the arrangements chair, Prof. M. Lynne Markus (UCLA: 213-825-8494 or ILD8MLM@oac.ucla.edu). In addition to the program information below, the following events are scheduled: - Sunday October 7, 7:00pm-10:00pm, Informal Reception at the Biltmore. - Monday October 8, 6:00pm-10:00pm, Reception at the ``Temporary Contemporary'' Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). - Tuesday October 9, 5:45pm-7:00pm Open Business Meeting: Planning for CSCW '92. - Tuesday October 9, 7:00pm-10:00pm DEMO NIGHT ***************************************************************** [NOTE: If you are interested in participating in demo night, or if you have a CSCW video you'd like to show, it's not too late.
