I noticed there has been some interest in computerised 'diary management' or 'appointment scheduling' here in the not to distant past. A mailing list has recently been created to aid the development of a client-server protocol to facilitate the above. The protocol is generic, but, of course leans towards the UNIX(tm) view of the world. brian --------------------------cut here---------------------------------------- This list is intended to hash out a standard method for client and server programs to communicate information about appointments and schedules. It is named after the name of the original specification document. (The "Chronos protocol"). The most current spec is available via anonymous ftp on the host boombox.micro.umn.edu in the directory /pub/ietf. I can mail out the specification if you can't ftp. The original intention of the chronos protocol was to give people at our university an option besides using PROFS. A standard protocol of this type is needed in the TCP/IP world. Send discussion to chronos@boombox.micro.umn.edu Send administrata to chronos-request@boombox.micro.umn.edu Thank you for your interest!
