[comp.groupware] Groupware references

s3013637@macadam.mqcs.mq.oz.au (Mary Rose De La Cruz) (02/26/91)

Here's a summary of responses to my query on books, articles, and other
references related to groupware. My thanks to all those who responded.
It's a short list, I'm afraid, as I didn't get too many responses.
Anyway, maybe you'd like to add to the list and I'll be only to happy to just
keep on compiling them (and I sure need them).

1. I. Greif (Ed.), Computer Supported Cooperative Work: A Book of Readings
    Morgan Kaufmann Publishers, 1988.

I've found this to be a most informative introduction to CSCW as it
contains a lot of the classic papers on groupware (most notably,
    Doug Engelbart).

2. Johansen, R., Groupware: Computer Support for Business Teams,
    The Free Press, 1988.

3. There's a new journal called Organizational Computing to be launched
at the conference in Austin, Texas on Feb 25-26.

4. Since my specific interest really is groupware on top of OSI,
    H. Lubich replied:

> We're in the process of building a shared conferencing and editing system
> based on the OSI common application service elements ACSE and ROSE.
> We've defined a corresponding protocol in ASN.1 and have implemented a first
> prototype based on a simple server/client scheme using the ISODE stack.

> We've also published some papers about the work we've done so far:
