[IRC = Internet Relay Chat, developed in Finland but now maintained by several worldwide. Available for ftp from salmon.ee.ubc.ca. Port number 6667, for now. Mailing list is irclist@tolsun.oulu.fi.] After looking at a core dump of ircd (the daemon which sends packets between irc servers) and discovering that a text buffer overflowed, I thought it would be cute (!?) to write it in Perl.
