Two pounds of hydrogen sounds like an awfully small reserve. (I imagine it did to Mark and to the people at AW&ST, or they wouldn't have mentioned it!) Eight people can easily drink 2 pounds of H as water a day! (Figure 1 liter/man/day = 0.24 lb of H per man per day. I don't suppose they recover any of that?) What is the total rate of usage, and what all is it used for? If they only use a couple pounds a day, two pounds of reserve is reasonable. I seem to remember that they don't use any for in-orbit maneuvering. Do they use it for retro, or anything other than electricity and water? Philip Lantz tektronix!bronze!philipl
