I received the MS-DOS version of Perl in the early summer and have been using it since and have been enjoying it a lot. The language is simply a lot of fun to use. Since the documentation included with MSPerl sais nothing about the existance of a Perl digest, I was unaware of its existance until the beginning of this week. Meanwhile I have been working on a couple of project of my own in Perl, that I would now like to share with the rest of the Perl community. The major project I undertook is a program that translates Microsoft Basic to Pascal. The program does about 90% of the translation. There are still a lot of things to improve in the program, and there are still a number of bugs. I am anyhow prepared to send it to whoever would like a copy. Another project I have done is to translate the manual that came with Perl into Norton Guides format. This too, I will be more than happy to send to whoever would like it. There are bugs in my version of MSDOS Perl 3.0.1.5, patchlevel 18. The command line options i, and e do not work. Is there a more recent version with later patch levels of MS-Dos Perl available? I also wonder if there is a more recent version of the manual available. I found the manual incomplete, and very difficult to learn the language from. Especially in the beginning. Example programs and a short tutorial would help a lot in the process of learning the program. I would also like to repeat my question once again if there is a VMS version of Perl available. If there is not, perhaps someone would be prepared to undertake the porting. Dov
