[comp.lang.perl] OS/2 and DOS

lbr@holos0.uucp (Len Reed) (11/08/90)

My changes to MS-DOS perl are current to patch level 37. As perl Lwall's
instructions I'm waiting for patch 38 before sending him this stuff.

Most of my work is in the msdos subdirectory, but I have had to change
some of the main code as well. I've tested my patched up version on
SCO Xenix 386 and NCR Tower V.2 and V.3 Unix and they work fine; I'd be
very surprised if BSD systems had problems.

It occurs to me, though, that the the OS/2 version may be more closely
coupled to DOS than these. In particular, some of my #if's could
cause problems there. I don't have OS/2 and so am in no position to
evaluate this; I hope there's no problem. I gather the Larry cannot
evaluate DOS or OS/2.

I see the name Raymond Chen and Kai Uwe Rommel in the os2 code. If either
of you (or someone else) is interested, I could send you my p.l. 37 changes.
I hope my changes won't break the OS/2 version, but it would be preferable
to find this out prior to a general release.
