Having been out of touch with perlworld for awhile, and now finally getting some breathing room to get back in it, I ftp'd the latest version from jpl and installed it on my Sun 3/60 (version 4.1). Everything seemed to install ok, but when I do a make test I get the message io.fs......FAILED on test 5 Before going any further, is this a known deficiency? And...btw...where is THE BOOK??????? -- John W. Nall | Supercomputation Computations Research Institute nall@sun8.scri.fsu.edu | Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL 32306 WB4LOQ (why? I dunno....everyone else seems to be doing it. _._)

Lotsa people run on Suns under 4.1. Are you maybe working in a strange
remote filesystem or something?

The first draft is out for review to a number of people, and we hope to
get it out by mid-January.
