NASA said today that Spacelab has been so successful so far that it might extend the mission duration of STS-9 by one day in order to gather more data from it. The shuttle has enough extra fuel and supplies for 2 to 3 more days in orbit if required.

It was interesting to hear yesterday that STS-9 may be extended. Particularly so when I recall reading that John Young said there was just enough fuel to meet maneuvering requirements for the mission as it was planned. Has NASA commented on this? -- I don't have a silly closing line, Roger Noe UUCP: ihnp4!ihlts!rjnoe
