[comp.lang.perl] Problem and Question

ericm@ims.UUCP (Eric Martinson) (01/26/91)

I was recently able to track down a perl distribution kit. According to
the man page and the file patchlevel.h, the version I have is

	Release 3.0 Patchlevel 41

What is the latest patchlevel? Where can I get ahold of the patches to
make what I have more current? In brief, what do I need and what is the
procedure to apply patches? (I want to make sure I have the tools I need
to get it done.)

The follow is produced by the test sweet when I run the file op.eval:

[hummer:t] op.eval
1..10
ok 1
ok 2
ok 3
ok 4
not ok 5
ok 6
ok 7
ok 8
ok 9
ok 10

Does anyone know what the ramifications of this message are and whether this
is a know problem that may or may not be fixed in a newer patch? I know this
is a bombardment of questions. I am just starting to look at perl and want
to make sure I get a good copy going to begin with.
