[comp.lang.perl] Perl core dumps

alan@mr_peck.tkna.com (Alan Light) (02/21/91)

My perl (3.44 SunOS 4.1) core dumps if it does not have at least one executable
statement. In other words if I just type "perl" to the shell, then hit
^D I get a core dump.

Is this normal?

No. It doesn't do it on any of my Suns. Funny compiler? Corrupted kits?
