[comp.lang.perl] sendmail like perl thing

I want to write a sendmail like program in perl, that will use a humanly readable
configuration file and perlish s/from/to rewrite rules, so I would like to hear
some opinions, does this worth doing? what problems I may encounter, etc. Also,
maybe someone already did that, and I may use his program instead...
