I still haven't figured out how to write a perl poem that also
does work (and am quite jealous of Craig Counterman, who posted
a useful perl poem here a while back), but here is my latest:
#!/usr/bin/perl
'love was'
&& 'love will be' if
		     (I, ever-faithful),
do wait, patiently;
"negative", "worldly", values disappear,
@last, 'love triumphs';
    join (hands, selves),
    pop champagne-corks,
"live happily-ever-after".
	"not so" ?
	 tell me:  "I listen",
                                   (do-not-hear);
push (rush, hurry) && die lonely if not-careful;
"I will wait."
&wait
