From UPI releases: LONDON -- Britain expelled nine Iranians, reportedly for planning to kill author Salman Rushdie, and put airports on full alert Friday after U.S. warnings that terrorists may be planning violence to mark the 11th anniversary of the Iranian revolution. The expulsions were swiftly followed by a renewed death threat from Tehran against the author. ATHENS, Greece -- Iran's new spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, apparently angered by the expulsion from Britain of nine Iranians, renewed a call Friday for the death of British author Salman Rushdie for writing a book Moslems consider blasphemous. Tehran radio said Khamenei renewed the murder call during Friday prayer ceremonies in the Iranian capital.
