THE MIRACLES OF MUHAMMAD (ASV)

from the Nineteenth Letter by Bediuzzaman Said Nursi

Translated from Turkish by Umid Simsek.

IN HIS NAME, BE HE GLORIFIED. THERE IS NAUGHT BUT GLORIFIES HIS PRAISE.

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE COMPASSIONATE, THE MERCIFUL.

HE IT IS WHO HAS SENT HIS MESSENGER WITH GUIDANCE AND THE RELIGION OF TRUTH TO

MAKE IT SUPREME OVER ALL RELIGION: AND SUFFICIENT IS ALLAH AS A WITNESS.

MUHAMMAD IS THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH, AND THOSE WHO ARE WITH HIM ARE FIRM

AGAINST UNBELIEVERS AND MERCIFUL AMONG EACH OTHER. THOU WILT SEE THEM BOWING

AND PROSTRATING THEMSELVES, SEEKING ALLAH'S GRACE AND PLEASURE. THEIR MARK IS

ON THEIR FACES, THE SIGN OF PROSTRATION; THIS IS THEIR SIMILITUDE IN THE TEVRAT

AND THE INJIL. Qur'an 48:28-29

FIRST SIGN:

The Possessor and Master of this universe does everything with knowledge,
disposes every affair with wisdom, directs everything all-seeingly, treats
everything all-knowingly, and arranges in everything with His will such causes,
purposes and uses as are apparent to us. Since, then, the One Who creates knows, surely the One Who knows will speak. Since He will speak, surely He will
speak to those who possess consciousness, thought and speech. Since He will
speak to those who possess intellect, surely He will speak to mankind, whose
make-up and awareness are most comprehensive of all conscious beings. Since
He will speak to mankind, surely He will speak to the most perfect of mankind
and those most worth of address. Since He will speak to those who are most
perfect, most worthy of address and highest in morality, who will guide humanity
; He will certainly speak to Muhammad(ASV), who, as friend and foe alike testify, is of the highest disposition and morality, who is obeyed by one fifth of
humanity, to whose spiritual rule half of the globe has submitted, with the
radiance of whose light has been illuminated the future of mankind for thirteen
centuries, to whom the believers, the luminous segment of humanity, renew five
times a day the oath of allegiance, for whose happiness they pray, for whom they
call down Allah's blessings (by saying Aleyhisselatu Vessellem) and bear
admiration and love in their hearts. Certainly, He will speak to Muhammad, and
indeed He did; He will make him the Messenger, and indeed He did; He will make
him the guide for the rest of humanity, and indeed He has done.

Note from the post'er:
The above exerpts are taken from the Risale-i Nur Collection (Treastise of
Light) written over the years of exile and imprisonment between 1920's and 1960
by Bediuzzaman Said Nursi of Turkey. Bediuzzaman is an Islamic Scholar of
Kurdish nation, who after the 2-year captivity in Russia(USSR then) came back to
Istanbul(then the Capitol of Ottoman Caliphate) and was appointed to be the headof the Institution for the Advancement of Islamic Knowledge (Dar'ul Hikmet'ul
Islam) which lasted until the foundation of todays' Turkish Republic. He
overturning the appointments of the First President Mustafa Kemal to become
either the General Secratary of Religious Matters of Eastern Provinces or a
member in the Grand National Assembly, or to continue with the Institution, went
to Van (an eastern province in Turkey). From this point on, he continually
struggled to upgrade the people's attachment to Islam and buldozed the attacks
of atheists and the worldly to the tenets of Islam and silenced the sneaky ways
of nature or probability worshippers' unfounded theories and cured the doubts
and confusion infiltrated to the minds and hearts of many muslims by utilizing
the truth and knowledge in Qur'an and Hadith. Of course his determinism caused
the Atheist and the worldly to flame, and much of anti-propaganda was made to
convince the Turks that he was a bad guy and to advance in knowledge and prosper
as a nation Islam had to be abondoned from the Turk's mind. Ironically we see
this trent of broadcasts gorifying the pride of nation but at the same time
attacking Islam and intrigueing the minds to leave Islam, even from non-Turks
as well as their Turkish partisans. There are so many brain-washed, illusioned
Turks who may lose their appetite by seeing Islamic postings and would reward
the postings of martilla the ebu-cehil of 15th century and say nothing to him.
In the mean time I wish for martilla a death in western style of his liking and of that he is so much fond of: maybe a high-dose cocaine intake, or flu along
with advanced AIDS, or street homocide for his expensive watch, or simply a
suicide. (a-bomb although a western invention would not do because it hurts all)
