salam, Some time ago I stated that a representative of Hikmatyar said that emmigration to his camp was obligatory. I compared this statement with the claim of the Kharijites that emmigration to their camps was obligatory. Well, I goofed big time. In Nahj al-balagha, the reported sayings and letters of Ali ibn Abi Talib, radiy allahu anh, he is reported to have said: Emmigration remains at its original status. God does not need he who conceals his obedience [to the imam in dar al-harb], nor does he need he who declares it [in the area of the imam's control.] The obligatoriness of emmigration does not depart from anybody who has encountered the proof [of religion] in any part of the earth. Whoever recognizes it and acts on it, so he emmigrates. This with the exception of the weak whom the proof reached so his ear heard it and his heart comprehended it, [but could not emmigrate.] p. 349, Beirut, ed. by Abd al-aziz sayyid al-ahl Salam, Ayman
