[soc.religion.islam] Hikmatyar

A representative of Hikmatyar's mujahidin spoke in the al-
Farooq mosque in Atlanta on Oct. 5. He said that
Hikmatyar's group would keep fighting until the communists
and those whose "fitra (nature) was no longer pure (salima)"
were eliminated. He was also highly critical of Afghani
Shiah and Iran.

Who supports Hikmatyar? What are the other parties solutions
for ending the war?

He also said hijra (emmigration) to Hikmatyar's camps was
wajib, because if Muslims' efforts were divided then they
would be crushed. Also, his camps are dar al-islam, all else
dar al-harb. He also said Afghanis were the best to lead
Muslims since they are the least tainted by non-Muslim
civilization.

I asked him afterwards if this view on hijra is an ijtihad
of Hikmatyar or has a past imam said such a thing. He said
the ayat in the Quran which order Meccan muslims to make
hijra to the Prophet salla allahu alaihi wa sallam apply today.

I believe the Khawarij said a similar thing.

Please enlighten, jazakum allahu khairan

wassalam,
Ayman

I would feel happier if I knew *WHO* was being quoted here, given
the current state of muslim politics the world over, but that may be
beside the point.

I bet anti-Islamic forces the world over will love this sort of
behaviour amongst muslims. Maybe someone should tell the Afghans what
happened to muslims in other parts of the world (Spain, India and most
everywhere else..) where they allowed the colonialists to divide them and conqu
er. In that sense maybe the Afghans are *not* the best to lead the muslims, as
they havent got much experience of the ways of the west.

It's also sad that we cant learn to work together without everyone wearing
one badge. I cant help but think twice when I see someone putting down
other people who claim to be working for the Ummah.

But, Allah knows best.

Salaam,
       Fazal.
