This book reviews the history of embryology from ancient times to the
18th century.  Egyptian, Indian, and Greek thinking on the subject is
addressed in Chapter 1.  Christian, Jewish, and Muslim ideas are found
in Chapter 2.  A chart on p 63 illustrates the period 600 BC to 600 AD.
