[soc.religion.islam] Nation of Islam and Islam

Some people were asking about lectures on Islam and have included the name
of Farrakhan as an Islamic figure. However the beliefs held by Farrakhan
and his clan Nation of Islam can hardly be considered within Islam as defined
in the Quran and by messenger Muhammed (pbuh).

The beliefs held by Nation of Islam and their minister Louis Farrakhan
include the following: (correct me if I'm wrong)
- Fard, the originator of their clan, was god in human form.
- Elijah Mohammed is the messenger of God sent to save the black man.
- They have different prayers and fasting than the rest of Muslims.

Any one of those beliefs in enough to take their believer out of the
circle of Islam. The good news is that Elijah's son, Warithuddin, has
abandoned his father's beliefs and now preaches the original Islam to his
followers.
