[soc.religion.islam] Question

SX43%LIVERPOOL.AC.UK@evans.ucar.edu (11/14/90)

As-Salaamu alaikum.
I would like to find out if there are any dynamic da-wah magazines in other par
ts of the world. If anyone knows of any muslim-oriented magazine I would apprec
iate it if you would mail me with a brief description and details of subscripti
on etc.
I would also appreciate any excerpts to give me a flavour of the style,
if copyright is not a problem.
Here in the UK we have about three major widely-read publications which are st
ill 'growing'; maybe it would be an idea to exchange ideas with people outside
the UK too.
            Thanks, wa Salaam,
Fazal.

I don't follow the arguement quite here. Why should an Islamic state should
invade a polytheistic state in the first place. Is'nt invasion for whatever
purpose against Islam as invasion involoves killing people.

Why should the Islamic state ask the other state to accept islam or accept
Dhimmi status? Is'nt this coercion?

>From what I understand the word Dhimmi means people of 'the' book. How about
Buddhists, Jains or Hindus who do not have 'a book' but several books?
Should they live as Dhimmis even if they are 100% of the people in their
country?

Worst of all what if some country with majority non-Muslims (e.g. Soviet
Union or Phillipines) asks its Muslim citizens to live as Dhimmis.

Can not the argument put forward by Zafar Iqbal be used by non-Muslim
countries to attack Muslim countries ?

Best Regards,
Satish

If I may suggest, you could simply skip the arguement. In this delicate
fikh [law ?] matter, you need proper Qur'an/Sunnah references. There are
plenty of other postings answering the question with proper references.
