Engineers have located the source of the problem that grounded the Discovery for the first time two weeks ago. It was a broken microscopic wire on an integrated circuit in the I/O system of the backup computer. When the four main GPC's (general purpose computer) detected the failure of the backup computer, they decided to scrub the launch. The next day, of course, they did the same thing when the engine valve failed to open.
