Workers today replaced the Number 3 Engine of the Discovery well ahead of schedule. The old engine and its faulty valve have been shipped separately to a testing lab and the manufacturer (respectively) for further examination. NASA, wanting to fully understand the problem that led to the aborted launch of 41-D, said that 17 July looks like the earliest possible new launch date.
