Apparently there was a fatality on Sunday in Perris. I arrived at the DZ at about 1:00 PM, which was supposedly about 1/2 hour after they removed the body of a Donald W. Fox, 51, of Stanton, CA. I was compleatly unaware of the fact that there had been a fatality that day. I was there to do my AFF level II jump. The first thing I heard about this was on Wednesday when a co-worker pointed out the obituary in the Orange County Register. What is really amazing to me is that I spent 5 hours at the DZ without hearing a single word about the accident! I called the dive school this afternoon to try and obtain some more specific information, but no one seemed to want to talk about it. It just seems a little strange to me that immediately after such a tragic accident that everything is 'back to business as usual'. I understand that the DZ wants to maintain a low level of publicity due to the liability issue, but I just expected there to be some evidence that a man had died earlier that day. If anyone has any specific information on the accident or my comments, please follow up... Lenny ---------------- Lenny M.
