[alt.sources.wanted] Alternate Charecter Set

anton@bkj386.uucp (Anton Aylward) (08/01/90)

I'm looking for a way to deal with the alternate charecter set.
TERMINFO from SVID a 5.2 defines this but it isn't in SCO XENIX.

Now I did get Pavel Curtis's TERMINFO/CURSES package, which has
a TERMINFO compiler which can handle such things as "acsc", but the
CURSES part doesn't.

I see no reason why UNIX should be crippled by boxes made up out of "+"
and "-" when terminals can do a lot better.

If anyone out ther has patched Pavel's work or has any other way of
dealing with ACS I'd very much like to hear about it.

I'd also like to hear why SCO still doesn't have ACS in CURSES.
Is this some kind of plot to force everyone to move to ODT and
X-Windows?
