The following appeared in alt.bbs recently and received poor response
[no offense jpw ;-)]. I hope a wider distribution will help.

Hi,
My department would like to set up an in-house or on-campus bbs. I am
told that the features that are being sought [currently ;-)] are:
- a UNIX mail interface.
- the ability to restrict access to certain groups to certain users or
groups of users.
- an on-board calendar/conferencing system.
- easy [read straightforward] administration, no hacking.
I am not familiar with the operation, administration or use of BBSs
but the task of gathering info on them has come to me. I would be
grateful for any assistance.
I have info on a system called MMB or TEAMate. It costs $$$ but seems,
from their promo material, to be robust if you have all the pieces.
What other systems are out there and in use? I am interested in Public
Domain, Shareware, Freeware or Payware. It should run on UNIX systems,
SunOS specifically. It MUST have documentation. It would be very nice
if our PC and dumb-terminal users could access it as well.
Please send e-mail to:
dkarres@hubcap.clemson.edu
I will summarize any responses back to this group within a week or
two.
Yours,
dean...k...
