Because of the discussion on the net, I called the local cable co. and asked if they would put this stuff on the Public Access Channel when the shuttle was up and nothing else was on the PAC. After about two hours on the phone, they said they'll get back with me. They made the front page of the local paper when they announced their decision. I watched a lot of the live coverage last launch and expect to watch more this time. The local cable company wrote & got permission and everything. They didn't realize it was available. A side benefit was that Scientific Atlanta had just given the local cable company a free antenna ( about 12 foot) and the owners were about to give it to another subsidiary in another area. Because the NASA feed was on a satellite that isn't normally watched by the cable company they would have had to get another dish. Sufficeth to say, the owner finally called me back and thanked me, he reported that he'd had a very positive response to this change. He was really happy to do this for us.
