See, we have this R6000 box sitting in our machine room and I wante to put it to good use :-) I have plans to make it nameserve for us but that will be such a waste of a good Cd-Player :-) So, has anybody got anything that will emulate a cd player (with sources if possible), so that one can at least select tracks, view track sizes etc? I would also appreciate any information on how to access the /dev/cd0 block device in such a way as to send data to the headphones also. Much appreciated, Steve ................................................................................ There is a lot of information about programming the CD-ROM in the info files under 'CD-ROM SCSI Device Driver', 'cd Special file', 'Physical Volumes and the Logical Device Driver' ans some others. Some body here at our school mades a curses interface to play music CD's, if you like I can send you an uuencoded version of the executable file ( I can't sent you the sources 'cause I don't know where they are :) ) -- Juan Gabriel Ruiz Pinto Internet: Ing.
