[comp.sys.m88k] Anyone compiled GNU Emacs on AViiON 4000

hawkwind@encore.kent.edu (Len Jaffe) (08/10/90)

I'm trying to compile Gnu emacs on my new aviion 4000 but I
get a little lost trying to make my own m-file. Does anybody
have this working? Would you be willing to share your m-file
with me? Data General says that they don't support it.

while I'm at it....
Does anybody know exectly what all is on the DG contributed
software tape (other than emacs and gcc sources). Is it worth the
money?

thanks,
lenny.

We do have it working, but it is not yet supported. However if you have
anonymous ftp capability you can get it from dg-rtp.dg.com (128.222.1.2) in
the directory "emacs." There is a README file in that directory that
explains what file are in the directory and what to do with them. (The
directory may not appear until Monday.)

Even though it is not "offically" supported working versions will be
maintained and updated. We also have Epoch (an X Windows version of Emacs)
working, and if anyone is interested, I can make that available as well.
