NASA said yesterday that it will take a week to ten days
to repair the damage done to Discovery and that Discovery
will definitely fly the hybrid mission, launching sometime
in April. Last week, a 2500 pound bucket fell onto the
Discovery, putting two holes in the graphite-epoxy honeycomb
structure of the left cargo bay door; fortunately, there
was no damage done to the frame of the door. The damaged
sections will be replaced.
