Using bits of plastic and other cheap things floating around the shuttle, astronauts will fashion a fly-swatter- like device that will be attached to the end of the RMS on Tuesday during an unplanned EVA. Then, on Wednesday, the Discovery will close in on the failed satellite, ejected Saturday, and, using the snagger, will attempt to grab hold of a lever that officials think did not snap open all the way. The idea of an astronaut boarding the end of the RMS and trying it by hand was ruled out for fear of bumping or crushing him against the satellite. Meanwihle, Challenger was moved to the pad today.
