[comp.sys.m88k] Need Parallel Debugger

moskowit@paul.rutgers.edu (Len Moskowitz) (06/06/91)

We're developing C software on an 8-node shared memory multiprocessor,
the Tadpole TP881V. It is based on Motorola's Hypermodule and runs 8
25-megaHertz Motorola 88100s and 16 88200s under Tadpole's version of
UNIX (called TP/IX). TP/IX's UNIX kernel is licensed from Data
General.

We need a debugger. Would someone please recommend a good one?

Encore uses the Mot. Hypermodule with 4 88100s in its Encore 91 computer runnin
UMAX V. Encore can provide a Motif/Windows based parallel, non-intrusive
debugger called Parasight. I just spent this week demonstrating it at the
AFCEA show in Washinton DC. It has the capability to debug programs with
multiple threads, set break points, add user written scan points written
in C or FORTRAN. It also can provide dynamic profiling during execution.
It can be non-intrusive or highly intrusive.

It includes a C or FORTRAN interpreter.

Encore's UMAX V also features real time extensions and an optional high
performance real time kernal hosted by UMAX called MicroMPX.
